Ahh a long and wonderful day is done...

What a wonderfully full day today was.

First, Aria slept until almost 7-which means I slept until almost 7. Now, that left only about 3 hours to get ready for Aria's party, but we pulled it off. I had put the chili on to cook last night and it was perfect by lunch time. Everyone arrived a bit late, but I generally expect that-I mean, we are talking about families with kids here. I know how hard it is for me to get out the door on time, so...

The party went really well. The kids ran back and forth between in here and outside, we had hot dogs and home made chili, using Megan's recipe, and chocolate cherry chip cake. After lunch we opened presents and then we had a medical call. Everyone was about ready to head home at that point anyway, because babies were starting to get tired. When Larry was done with the call our Chief invited us to come over that evening for a get together they were having-with lasagne.

We arrived a bit late for that (see earlier reference) but with napped and changed kiddoes, and stayed for about 4 hours. We had a GREAT time there. The babies were behaving really well but I knew it would be just a matter of time before they completely went down hill in their behavior from being tired, so we went ahead and came home. Within 30 minutes of getting home, everyone but Roan was comatose! Took him a bit longer but he always fights sleep.

I had put a pork roast on to cook, in case the littles were too tired after Aria's party to go over to the Chief's, and I let it continue to cook when we left. So right now I'm waiting for the crock from the crock pot to cool so I can put it in the fridge.

Aimee went to a wedding reception tonight. From her texts, she seems to be having a good time. And from what we've heard on the radio, all seems to be going well over there.

So all in all, it was a wonderful day. Long, but very wonderful. Except that the lighting in the bathroom at the Chief's house makes me look way more gray-haired that the lighting in our bathroom.

OK, off to go find a game to play, or maybe read, while I wait for that crock to cool.
